About Me

My photo

When I was 7 years old I was born again! Five years later, the Lord filled me with His Holy Spirit and called me out to serve in full time service in the ministry. My heart is missions and a longing to love people into God's Kingdom.
I love to teach God's Word, pray with people and write.
Soon, we are hoping our Jesus opens amazing doors to walk into mission endeavors.

HISTORY OF GREAT REVIVALS IN CHRISTIANITY UNIT STUDY

 Why do we need a revival? Let me ask this, why do we need to breath, eat and why does a child need to grow? TO LIVE! Be complete in the Life with in the Kingdom of God. According to history, the great reformation tended to sparkle at the beginning of the centuries.  Irregardless, my heart is yearning for God to breakthrough the slumber of the church and shake us awake once again. I am praying for prayer warriors, one's who are willing to truly fast and pray (not to just go on a diet)-but grasp the objectiveness of God's church to arise and be what He intended. He intended us to live a life of fullness (fulfillment); which cultivates contentment in who we are in Him! I felt led to put this Revival Study together at first for my home school students and possibly our church body. But, I hope this just spurs a desire for all believers to see the hearts of those God used in the revivals of the past. So much so...that we will encounter a revival of the present!  Daneille G. of their folders.
-Begin by creating a folder that will have dividers. Decorate with scriptures references of revival. Maybe print off clip art of famous preachers and places. I am designing this unit study for a 5th grader, a high schooler as well as adults. The students will have assignments accordingly.
Now the back of their folders.

Revival [In dictionary] "Restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, an awakening." [dictionary.com
                From Spurgeon: "The word "revive" wears its meaning upon its forehead; it is from the Latin, and may be interpreted thus—to live again, to receive again a life which has almost expired; to rekindle into a flame the vital spark which was nearly extinguished."

The tenants required renouncing of all doubtful behavior, harboring no unforgiveness, unquestioning obedience to the Spirit of God, and public testimonies to the work of God.
Prayer meetings sprung up everywhere. Conviction of sin was so strong that taverns emptied with men leaving their drinks behind as they were gripped with a holy fear. Soccer stadiums were emptied because everyone was at the revival. Police had nothing to do because crime had completely stopped and the jails were empty. Virtually all debts were paid in the entire nation. Horses and mules had to be trained to respond to different commands because they had become accustomed to responding to curses. Now no one dared curse in all of Wales out of a fear of God! [http://wba108yahoocom.hubpages.com/hub/Revival-in-Wales#]

QUOTES:
"Anyone who has studied past Revivals will tell you that above all
else, it is the key elements of repentance and also heart-rending,
Spirit-fired prayer that first lead to Revival, and then keep the
flame burning on. As Matthew Henry stated, "When God intends great
mercy for His people, the first thing He does is set them a-praying."
Andrew Strom
-------------------

"In the Welsh Revival of 1904 under Evan Roberts, the entire nation was literally
transformed, with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS converted in a matter of
a few months in this tiny nation. And it was all through prayer
and repentance."
----------------------

"The keys to these past Revivals seemed to be deep repentance
and this kind of 'wrestling, agonizing' prayer for the outpouring of
God's Spirit."

From History of Revivals   by Geoff Waugh
http://www.holytrinitynewrochelle.org/yourti18132.html

Scripture gives a constant call for individual and communal repentance issuing in righteousness and justice.
Wilbur Smith notes seven revivals in the Old Testament in addition to the one with Jonah. These revivals involved:
1. Jacob's household (Genesis 35),
2. Asa (2 Chronicles)
3. Joash (2 Kings)
4. Hezekiah
5. Josiah
6. Haggai and Zechariah with Zerubbabel
7. Ezra with Nehemiah
He noted nine characteristics of these revivals:
1. They occurred in times of moral darkness and national depression;
2. Each began in the heart of a consecrated servant of God who became the energising power behind it;
3. Each revival rested on the Word of God, and most were the result of proclaiming God's Word with power;
4. All resulted in a return to the worship of God;
5. Each witnessed the destruction of idols where they existed;
6. In each revival, there was a recorded separation from sin;
7. In every revival the people returned to obeying God's laws;
8. There was a restoration of great joy and gladness;
9. Each revival was followed by a period of national prosperity.

                                                      God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)
"Let heaven roar and fire fall; come shake the ground with the sound of revival."
